Elder Abuse: What You Need to Know

Elder abuse is a growing area of concern in Ontario. This workshop will be helpful for family members, carers, and service providers who will learn about elder abuse and the forms of elder abuse including financial abuse and scams, how to spot elder abuse, steps to take if someone is being abused, safety planning, and resources to help.

Facilitator: METRAC’s Legal Director, Andrea Collins-Fitzpatrick. Andrea is a lawyer who was called to the Bar in Ontario and Manitoba and has a particular interest in access to justice and providing legal information in plain language.

Registration Required: University of Toronto students, staff, postdoctoral fellows and faculty are welcome. Partners and family members (including chosen family members) who are co-caregivers with U of T students, staff, postdoctoral fellows and faculty are also welcome to attend.
