After School Programs

Before and after-school programs are available for children from kindergarten age until 12 years. Before-school programs are generally offered between 7:00 a.m. and the start of the school day. After-school program hours are usually between 3:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Many programs are offered and affiliated with specific schools.

Some programs available:

City of Toronto
The City of Toronto runs the After-school Recreation Care through Toronto Parks, Forestry & Recreation offering programming for 3,600 children living in Toronto. A maximum of 60 children per location is allowed with a ratio of 15 children to 1 care provider.

Toronto Public Library
The Toronto Public Library offers activities for school age children. Contact the individual library to find out about the programs offered. Depending on the age of the child, the parent’s/guardian’s presence may be required.

Toronto District School Board
The Toronto District School Board has a directory which will help you find the appropriate program for your child. Use our child care finder to locate a program in your area.

Toronto Catholic School Board
The Toronto Catholic School Board offers recreational After-School Programs generally offered after school hours, between 3:30 and 6:00 p.m.; a morning component could be added if necessary.

YMCA
YMCA offers affordable programs available in various neighbourhoods throughout the Greater Toronto Area and provide financial help for those who qualify.
