Child Care Centres

The U of T on-campus child care centres are staffed by professionally qualified early childhood educators. Each centre is separately incorporated as a not-for-profit and is licensed by the Province of Ontario. The centres give priority to University of Toronto families. Contact each centre directly to be placed on its waiting list. 

The waiting lists for the U of T child care centres are long. You are advised to apply early (as soon as you are expecting and if you are relocating to the Greater Toronto Area, as soon as you know you’ll be moving here).

The Family Care Office encourages you to put your name on 5-10 waitlists, as soon as possible. Many people who are having a baby add themselves to waitlists when they are expecting. Child care waitlists are long, typically 1-1.5 years or more. Contact child care centres directly to add yourself to their waitlist. U of T community members, please also add yourself to off-campus child care centre waitlists, as space in on-campus centres is not guaranteed.

Note: Glen Morris & OISE Early Learning Centres will have Preschool (2.5 yrs to 3.5yrs) starting in September 2026. Spaces as always are for active staff, students, and faculty of the University.
