Pregnancy Leave
Please refer to the Manual of Staff Policies for Academics/Librarians for the pregnancy and parental leave policy that will govern your leave. Refer to the Pregnancy Leave article that can be accessed by logging into the HR Service Centre. If you have any questions about the university policy, you can contact your Human Resources Generalist or the Family Care Office.
Parental Leave

Adoption/Primary Caregiver Leave
Please refer to the Manual of Staff Policies for Academics/Librarians for the adoption leave policy that will govern your leave. Refer to the Primary Caregiver and Adoption Leave article that can be accessed by logging into the HR Service Centre. If you have any questions about the university policy, you can contact your Human Resources Generalist or the Family Care Office.
Short-Term Compassionate, Bereavement and Emergency Leaves
A faculty member or librarian may arrange short-term compassionate, bereavement and emergency leaves with their Chair, Dean, Principal, or library supervisor with no loss of salary or benefits. Requests for such leaves shall not be unreasonably denied. Please refer to the Manual of Staff Policies for Academics/Librarians for the leave information. Refer to an appropriate article in the HR Service Centre. If you have any questions about the university policy, you can contact your Human Resources Generalist or the Family Care Office.

Additional Leaves
There are unpaid, job-protected leaves that you may be able to access if you are caring for a seriously ill family member. Employment Insurance (EI) benefits may be available for some of these leaves.
