Pregnancy Leave
Please refer to your collective agreement for the pregnancy and parental leave policies that will govern your leave. Your collective agreement can be accessed on the People Strategy, Equity and Culture website. If you have any questions about the University policy, you can contact the Family Care Office.
Parental Leave
Please refer to your collective agreement for the parental leave policies that will govern your leave. Your collective agreement can be accessed on the People Strategy, Equity and Culture website. If you have any questions about the University policy, you can contact the Family Care Office.
Non-Birth Parent Leave
Please refer to your collective agreement on the People Strategy, Equity and Culture website for the non-birth parent leave policy that will govern your leave.
Compassionate Leave
Upon request, an employee shall be granted leave without loss of pay for up to one (1) week to attend to an ill relative, spouse, child or close associate, at the employee’s request once per contract year. Unpaid compassionate leaves under this article may be granted during the same contract year. Your collective agreement can be accessed on the People Strategy, Equity and Culture website.
Additional Leaves
There are unpaid, job-protected leaves that you may be able to access if you are caring for a seriously ill family member. Employment Insurance (EI) benefits may be available for some of these leaves.
